Kathy Reichs' Newest Mystery Out Soon!
Jun 29th, 2008 by Lynn DeVries

Devil Bones (hard cover)Just because it’s the summertime and we can’t watch any new episodes of Bones for a while doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy some good reading. Kathy Reichs, on whose books the show of Bones was loosely based, has a brand new Temperance Brennan mystery coming out on August 26. It’s called Devil Bones and if it’s as good as her previous books, it’s a must-read!!

Here’s a bit of the synopsis for the book:

Bones to Ashes (paperback)

While working in Charlotte, N.C., Brennan investigates remains unearthed during a housing renovation and discovers disturbing clues possibly pointing to voodoo or Santeria. She must determine if the bones, including the skull of a teenage girl, are linked to an unidentified headless torso found in a nearby lake.

You can pre-order it on Amazon for $17.13.

But if you prefer to wait until books come out in paperback to buy them, the good news is that her last bestseller, Bones to Ashes is now out in paperback. It’s available on Amazon.com too.

More Bones Casting News
Jun 29th, 2008 by Lynn DeVries

Premiere Of "Bewitched"
Image details: Premiere Of "Bewitched" served by picapp.com

According to TV Guide, we now know a couple more people who have been cast for appearances in season 4 of Bones. Veteran of The Practice, actor Michael Badalucco will appear in one of the early episodes in season 4. He’ll be playing a grad student in the lab, but not a grad student of the usual age group. That should be a lot of fun!

In the same episode, we’ll get to see the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan playing himself on the show. I love that show and can’t wait to see what his role on the show will be!

Hodgela & the Other Man
Jun 29th, 2008 by Lynn DeVries

Michaela ConlinAccording to Watch With Kristen, they have cast the actor who will play Angela’s husband, Birimbau. The new/old man in Anglea’s life will be played by Sean Blakemore, a totally hot actor who should bring some spice to Bones this fall.

Here’s what Hart Hanson has to say about the casting of the character:

“We’re gonna find the best guy in the world for Angela. Whoever we finally cast, Jack has to be completely and utterly cowed when this guy finally walks in.”

I’m worried about what it could mean for Hodgens & Angela. Will they survive the arrival of the new character?

Hart Hanson Has More to Say About Bones
Jun 29th, 2008 by Lynn DeVries

David Boreanaz & Emily DeschanelSince the end of season 3, Hart Hanson has done a number of interviews to talk about Bones in general, the difficult ending to the third season and the audience’s reaction to Zack’s revelation. Many of them have repeated some of the basics about the writers’ intentions and the audience’s reactions, but this interview with Digital Spy had one more very interesting response that I thought you would enjoy:

Were you surprised by the reaction to the mistletoe kiss between Brennan and Booth?
“We couldn’t believe the fuss about the mistletoe kiss, but check out the DVD for the hot, steamy version. That’s the version that didn’t make it to air – but it was recorded and it’s going to go on the DVD for sure.”

What Do You Think of Our Guest Bloggers?
Jun 20th, 2008 by Lynn DeVries

Today, I have been honored with some amazingly creative, well written and thought provoking pieces offered for posting on this site by some of Bones‘ biggest fans. I have laughed with our guest bloggers and I have been made to see some things a bit differently than before. Personally, I have enjoyed every one of the articles contributed by these dedicated and talented people.

I want to thank each and every one of you who took the time out of your busy schedules to write and contribute articles to help support our Charity Blog-Off.

So what do the rest of you think of the guest posts we’ve received today? Should I plan to do another marathon blogging day sometime in the future? I’d love to know what you think!

Emily Deschanel is AfterEllen's #69 Sexiest of 2008
Jun 20th, 2008 by Lynn DeVries

Emily DeschanelIn a funny twist of fate, Emily Deschanel is not on the Maxim Hot 100 list this year, but she is on the AfterEllen Hot 100 list. Does that mean that she’s more attractive to women than to men? (I find it hard to believe…) Surely, she is incredibly attractive to both men & women! Perhaps this year, the men weren’t paying enough attention! ;-)

And what’s up with her sister making the Maxim list and Emily making the AfterEllen.com list? It’s all very interesting, but I say that it’s always a good thing to be considered attractive.

Congratulations, Emily!!

Wendy and Jamie Concur: Hart Hanson Needs a Virtual Hug [Guest Post]
Jun 20th, 2008 by Lynn DeVries

Jamie FreveleJamie Frevele lives in New York where she writes for Huffington Post & Newsday. She became hooked on Bones during a short period of unemployment. She says that she became bored and picked up the Bones DVDs. She watched seasons 1 and 2 nonstop and instantly “fell in love with the uniquely character-driven procedural comedy drama.” She also writes her own blog, http://flummoxology.blogspot.com

Wendy YoungWendy Young lives in Louisville, TN. She’s one of the fans Bones picked up during the strike hiatus, actually. She started watching on Hulu in early 2008 and quickly watched everything they had to offer, then bought the S1 and S2 DVD sets. The show completely hooked her and she’s seen every episode more than once. As for work, I she’s a Jill-of-all-trades at an engineering firm. Wendy writes her own blog, http://obsessedwithbones.blogspot.com/

Wendy and Jamie discuss how bad they feel that Bones creator Hart Hanson thinks that the show has a “negative Internet presence” and why we think he needs a hug.

JAMIE: Wendy, that article really upset me, the one on Blogcritics.

WENDY: I know. Hearing bad things about Bones is really not the kind of press I like to see.

JAMIE: It’s like Hart Hanson is the Willie Randolph of Bones. Except the season finale actually had high ratings as opposed to having an historic collapse and he wasn’t fired at 3 AM.

WENDY: Other than that, you’re right – exactly alike.

JAMIE: Don’t sass me, Wendy. But seriously, the whole tone he took – I think he needs a hug.

WENDY: I agree. We can’t help it if we don’t proclaim our love as loudly as the detractors proclaim their hate. Sorrreeeee – if we love the show, we’re going to be grammatically correct, spell check and engage in lively and civilized discussion.

JAMIE: We could change our ways. How about this: OMG i cant beliv he did that 2 zak but i like 2tle respect tha cre8v deciszion that wuz made WOOOOOOOOOOOO booth iz sooooooooo hotttttttt

WENDY: “2tle”?

JAMIE: That was “totally.” I tried.

WENDY: Oh, right. Yeah, I don’t want to do that.

JAMIE: Yeah, me neither.

WENDY: Don’t get me wrong, David Boreanaz is quite attractive.

JAMIE: I concur. Though I honestly think they’re all hot.

WENDY: It’s a good-looking cast. But this Hart thing is bothering me.
