Feb 28th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

Last night was a very important night in the lives of the Deschanel family. Bones star Emily Deschanel and her sister Zooey Deschanel were both there to help celebrate their father’s lifetime achievement award at the American Society of Cinematographers 24th Annual Outstanding Achievement Awards, held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel.

The entire family was there and here are some wonderful photos of them all at the event. Their father is Oscar nominated cinematographer Caleb Deschanel and their mother is actress Mary Jo Deschanel. They all look very proud!

Bones: What Does it Take to be King of the Lab?
Feb 27th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

This is an absolutely insanely wonderful clip showing why on Bones, it’s best to be King of the Lab!

Michaela Conlin talks about what makes a person the King of the Lab, then there are tons of great bits of Hodgins blowing things up and causing chaos in the lab. It’s fabulous!!!

Bones Spoiler: The Big “What If…?”
Feb 27th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

This is a fascinating interview with Bones creator Hart Hanson. In it, the interviewer asked him if we will find out in the 100th episode that Booth & Brennan have already “done it.” What if, when they first met, they were intimate with each other and it caused problems?

Hart is amazingly vague. How can a person say so little, but with so much emphasis? ;-) You’ve gotta love him!

Bones Spoiler: Complications Ahead!

Here’s the latest Bones scoop from Michael Ausiello. The show will involve a “rock & Roll fantasy camp” and the romances on the show are going to get complicated!

Question: Please tell me that you have at least one little morsel of a Bones spoiler. —Carrie

Ausiello: An April episode set at a rock & roll fantasy camp will feature enough testicle talk to make my high school sex-ed teacher Mrs. Sturke blush. It’ll also find Booth and Brennan “reprising a song they have sung on the show before,” hints exec producer Stephen Nathan. Guesses? Head to the comments!

Questions: Could I please, pretty please, have something about Angela and Hodgins on Bones? Please, with a cherry on top? —Dew

Ausiello: Exec producer Stephen Nathan says look for the Hodgins/Angela/Wendall imbroglio to get “stirred up” in coming weeks. “Obviously it’s a very complicated triangle, because Hodgins and Wendall are very good friends,” he adds. “And now Angela is sort of in the middle of this situation, and re-examining her relationship with Hodgins.”

Question: Now that we know Booth is getting a little action on Bones, what about Brennan? —Sydney

Ausiello: I hear there’s a second date with Hacker in her future. [Source: EW]

Bones: What’s Ahead This Season
Feb 24th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

Here are all but one of the episode titles for the rest of the season of Bones and the dates they’ll air. I’m disappointed that we’ll only get 22 episodes this season. It seems like the seasons get shorter each year. :-(

But looking at the titles, the possibilities for the cases involved are very fun! And since last season ended with the title The End in the Beginning, I’m intrigued by the season finale this time being called The Beginning in the End. It sounds very promising for B&B shippers!!!

Episode Title Ep # Air Date
The Bones on the Blue Line 5.15 April 1, 2010
The Parts in the Sum of the Whole 5.16 April 8, 2010
The Death of the Queen Bee 5.17 April 15, 2010
The Predator in the Pool 5.18 April 22, 2010

Stephen Fry & Craig Ferguson Have a Frank Discussion
Feb 24th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

Let me start by saying that I adore both Stephen Fry and Craig Ferguson. So it was a thrill to find out that the only guest on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson last night was Stephen Fry. There was also no audience and no reading of emails, etc. There was just the two of them sitting face-to-face, talking. It was glorious.

And they didn’t hold back anything. They very openly discussed their own troubled pasts, and what they view as their shortcomings. Here’s the first five minutes of the discussion. If you missed seeing it last night, this will show you why you need to watch if it is rebroadcast in the future. I’ll watch for it and let you know if I find out when it will re-air. Check this out:

Bones: Romance Spoilers!!
Feb 23rd, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

Here’s some cool Bones info from Michael Ausiello. It looks like Booth’s love interest won’t be in the picture very long at all. Whew! That’s good news! :-)

And here’s a tiny tidbit of info about Cam’s new romantic interest. I can’t wait to find out what crazy way the writers will decide to introduce us to him.

Question: What will Booth’s new love interest mean for Booth and Brennan on Bones? —Ellouise

Ausiello: I don’t think there will be any long-term fallout, especially since Rena Sofer is only on board for one episode at this point. But in the short-term, the date will “cause a little turmoil” in their emotional lives, according to exec producer Stephen Nathan, who adds, “It’s nice to confuse Booth and Brennan every now and then. You don’t want the show to become predictable or complacent.” Nathan also points out that “Booth has really neglected his personal life. We wanted to see what it would be like for him to [briefly] explore a potential life with another person… and let him see what it’s like to just be a guy.”

Question: I do not like this whole Booth with a new love interest nonsense! Any hope for Booth/Brennan fans by the end of season 5? —Shorty

Ausiello: Exec producer Stephen Nathan hinted that Booth’s big date with Sofer’s Catherine — which is slated to air in the April 22 episode — will help move B&B “forward towards a bit of a change in their lives.” What does that mean exactly? Grrr. Let me come at this from a different angle: How does the date go? “I guess how the date goes depends on what you think of Booth and Bones and the show Bones. Some people are going to like it, some people are not going to like it.” Let me come at this from a different angle: Nah, I give up.

Question: Need some Bones scoop, please! —Amy

Ausiello: Cam’s getting a new love interest! “We have an episode coming up where Cam meets someone,” reveals Nathan, “and it complicates her relationship with her adopted daughter, Michelle.” Nathan adds that we’ll meet Cam’s suitor in “a very bizarre way.” [Source: EW]

Bones: Casting News!
Feb 23rd, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

Fox All-Star TCA Party - Arrivals

Great news for Cam! The Powers That Be (TPTB) have finally decided to give her a love interest on Bones! I mean, c’mon folks, she’s beautiful, intelligent and funny. Why has she gone so long without a boyfriend? It just doesn’t make sense.

According to EW, the actor who will be wooing Cam is Elon Gold. He’s a nice-looking guy, but I want to know more about his character. I hope he’s worthy of our Cam! ;-)

Actor-comedian Elon Gold — best known from Fox’s short-lived Pamela Anderson sitcom Stacked — is joining the cast as a love interest for Cam.

As exec producer Stephen Nathan recently teased, Cam will meet her new beau “in a very bizarre way.” He added that the romance “complicates [Cam's] relationship with her adopted daughter, Michelle.”

Elon’s potentially recurring gig kicks off in April. [Source: EW]

Bones Nominated for a Genesis Award
Feb 22nd, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

Genesis Awards

I’m thrilled to let you know that Bones has been nminated for a Genesis Award this year.

As you may know, the Genesis Awards are to recognize various TV shows, movies, books, etc. that further awareness of animal issues. The awards are given by the Humane Society of America. I know that Emily Deschanel must be vry proud that Bones has been nominated again for this prestigious award, given her passion for animal rights.

The episode of Bones that’s nominated this year is The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken. That’s the episode that showed the conditions in the chicken industry. I’m not surprised that they are honoring that episode. It was a great one. There are only two series in contention for the award in their category this year, so it’s a 50-50 chance that they will win.

Here are the nominations in their category:

DRAMATIC SERIES

  • BONES The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken – Fox
  • THE CLOSER multiple episodes – TNT
