Spoiler #1:
Question: Do you have any scoop on Bones? — Claire
Ausiello: Tonight’s two-hour UK-based season premiere is, in a word, busy. Not only is a notable character whacked, but there’s a little partner swappage, a not-so-little breakup, and this shocking reveal from Booth: He tends to laugh during sex. Oh, and special guest star Indira Varma (Rome) makes a strong case for deserving her very own TV series. Hey, Claire, before I let you go, would you mind checking in on Joann above? I think she might be suicidal.
Question: My arthritis is acting up. Take pity on me and give me some Bones scoop. — Holly
Ausiello: Oh, I get it. Arthritis. Bones. Good one. Hey, if you’re at all interested, Ausiello TV is looking to hire some new comedy writers. (Didja think the show wrote itself?) Anywhoo, back to your Q, next week’s States-based Bones ep ends with what I’m told is Booth and Brennan’s most revealing therapy session with Doc Sweets yet. (And if by chance you were serious about the arthritis thing, here’s my conscience-clearing tip for you.) [Source: EW]
Spoiler #2:
Tina in New London, Conn.: Do you have any scoop on the Bones’ season premiere?
Birimbau arrives, gets divorced from Angela and promptly sleeps with another one of the ladies of the lab, and that lady is neither Brennan nor Angela. Scandal! Also, later on, Michael Badalucco, whom most of you know as Jimmy Berluti from The Practice, is guesting as one of the interns who will be rotating through the lab this year. Oh, and David Boreanaz himself is going to direct episode 10 this season (hang in there for more that). [Spoiler: E! Online]
Spoiler #3:
Bones creator Hart Hanson has revealed how the hit forensic show’s season four premiere came to film in London.
Speaking at a press conference last week, Hanson explained that network Fox was looking to air two-hour season premiere specials for shows in its Autumn line-up.
He said: “We worked out a story that seemed to work only in England. Once the network saw the outline they got on board. I’m shocked because the exchange rate is brutal here for us!”
The premiere, which has filmed in locations at Wrotham Park, Greenwich, Canary Wharf and the Guildhall, will see Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) attempt to solve the murder of an American girl.
Hanson explained: “It has a slight Upstairs, Downstairs aspect to it, with servants and royalty and the class system. An heiress with an American father is yanked from the Thames in her Range Rover.
“Brennan and Booth are here lecturing. Booth is lecturing at Scotland Yard and Brennan is lecturing at Oxford about working with cops. The murder happens… the FBI would have jurisdiction over it if Scotland Yard invited them.” [Source: Digital Spy]
Spoiler #4:
Grayson “Birimbau” Barasa, aka Angela’s husband, finally surfaces. He doesn’t want to sign the divorce papers, claiming that he still loves Angela. She told him that she now loves Hodgins but Birimbau doesn’t want to listen. He reminds her of the night they met and how they both felt in the hope that Angela’s love for him comes back. Later, Hodgins meets with Birimbau at a diner to have him sign the papers. Birimbau tells Hodgins that he has been looking for Angela for the past four years and that he even built her a house in Florida so there is no way he will let her go without a fight. Angela and Sweets meet Hodgins and Birimbau outside of the diner. Hodgins and Birimbau start to fight and Sweets joins in on the action before Angela walks off. One of the London folks Brennan and Booth interact with is Inspector Cate Pritchard. [Source: SpoilerFix]

Short Interview With Cesar Millan (Guest Star):
His role on Bones
“I am helping Brennan and Booth to find the killer to find who actually set this dog to become a weapon.”
A dog kills someone…
“The dog was instructed to kill someone, obviously you know dogs don’t want to harm humans in my belief, but some people can be pretty sick up there and, and make a dog a weapon.”
Playing himself on the show – was that odd?
“They were very flexible in that aspect you know, so I could use my own words so I could feel very organic about me being me and being authentic about it, and more than anything it was very realistic what we did. It was pretty awesome what those people are capable of coming up with you know, what they are able to come up with for a show. I’m very impressed.”
Does he feel he has a gift with dogs?
“To walk 50 dogs I think you have a little gift, and they’re off leash, so ah yeah I guess I do.” [Source: SpoilerTV]

As the victim’s bones continue to foam, the team realizes they have only 24 hours to determine the cause of death before the bones disintegrate completely. Meanwhile, Booth and Brennan identify the victim as a car salesman whose wheeling and dealing may have brought him many an unsatisfied customer in “The Bones That Foam” episode of BONES airing Thursday, March 12 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. STEWIE GRIFFIN OFFERS BOOTH SOME SAGE ADVICE ON “BONES” THURSDAY, MAY 7, ON FOX
Stewie Griffin, the youngest member of the FAMILY GUY clan, makes a very unique appearance on BONES Thursday, May 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
In “The Critic in the Cabernet” episode, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) decides she wants to have a baby and surprises Booth (David Boreanaz) with a request to father her child. Brennan’s request dredges up a host of unspoken feelings and unresolved issues between the two, and Booth becomes consumed by the prospect of having a child. The stress of the situation, coupled with Booth’s undiagnosed health issue, paves the way for a surprise visit from Stewie. The diabolically clever baby assesses the situation and offers advice in his inimitable style.
After returning from the BONES set, Griffin remarked on the experience of playing his first dramatic role: “Oh, have you seen it? Was I good? Because I heard they said I was amazing and they want me to replace Emily, but that’s just a rumor.”
“The guy was good during the actual scenes, which is the important thing,” Boreanaz commented. “But between takes he literally vanished – nowhere to be seen. I guess it’s true that Brits and cartoons tend to be standoff-ish. Or maybe it was a method thing, I don’t know.”
In its new Thursday time period, BONES ranks No. 1 among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers. The series is up over its average for the comparable period last year among key demos and improves over FOX’s prior delivery in the Thursday 8:00 PM hour by dramatic margins among Adults 18-49 (+43%), Adults 18-34 (+20%) and Total Viewers (+74%).
BONES is from Far Field Productions and Josephson Entertainment in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Hart Hanson, Barry Josephson and Stephen Nathan are executive producers. [Source: FOX]

General Season 4 Spoilers:
Spoiler:
Could you indulge my Bones theory? Considering a) the big backlash against making Zack evil, b) the “backtrack” by making Zack not the killer and empirically repentant and c), the lack of a permanent lab replacement, will Gormogon’s apprentice be doing some community service time at the Jeffersonian? – Charles
Mickey: I will indulge your theory, Charles, but as we’ve already seen, Zack can sneak out of the booby hatch to go back to work at the Jeffersonian almost any time he likes! Yes, Eric Millegan is going to show up “periodically” this season, but I’m guessing it won’t always be in this unique professional capacity.
Any chance of Zooey Deschanel turning up on Bones? – David
Mickey: At the moment, no. The producers are fans, but don’t hold your breath for Brennan’s “long-lost sister” to pop up or anything. [Source: TV Guide]
Spoiler:
Tell me that Hart Hanson is not seriously thinking of having Booth’s brother, Jared, and Bones get into a relationship with each other. – Sharon
Matt: “Relationship” can be such a nasty word. Brennan most certainly will be attracted to the upstanding Navy officer, I am assured, and he to her. But really, how en fuego can these two get in just the two episodes Brendan Fehr is signed on for? I need at least four outings to get my own mojo working. [Source: TV Guide]
Spoiler:
Debbie in Seattle: What’s going to happen to Booth and Bones when she dates his brother Jared [Brendan Fehr]?
I ran into David Boreanaz and he told me, “I know she goes on a date with him (Jared), and it doesn’t go too well. It’s not that I really struggle with it. I think I’m more or less struggling with the kind of person he is and how he would end up getting her, maybe, into trouble.” For the love of the fans and all that is holy: Stick with Booth, Bones! [Source: E! Online]
Spoiler:
OK, this is going to make it much harder to hate Jared Booth, the incoming Bones character who will be making time with Brennan (Emily Deschanel)…
Brendan Fehr has posted on his official website that he’ll be joining the show in the role of David Boreanaz’s character’s brother.
Fehr wrote of his new gig, “The character is great and well written and will be something I haven’t really done yet. He’s got a lot of stuff to work with on the screen and with a great back story so here’s to not screwing it up!”
As Bones show runner Hart Hanson told me earlier this week…
Jared’s appearance will be a significant obstacle for the original Booth (Seeley) and his partner Bones.
No confirmation yet from the studio or network, but what do you guys think of the news? I’m actually delighted. Two of the original WB boys back together as brothers! [Source: E! Online]
Spoiler:
Two new characters will be recurring on Bones this season, and according to the exclusive information I have just received from Bones boss Hart Hanson, both of those new characters are third parties who will get between the happy (re)unions of our two favorite Jeffersonian lab couples, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Bones (Emily Deschanel), and Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Angela (Michaela Conlin).
Who are those third parties, and what are their intentions? Well…
According to Bones executive producer Hanson, Angela’s rekindled (female) flame will not burn out quickly! He told me, “Roxie (Nichole Hiltz) is not a one-off character. We expect to see her a few more times this season. She is a very real complication for Hodgins and Angela.” Aaah!
But that’s not the worst of it. According to Hart, Booth’s younger brother will also be joining the fray and will definitely become an obstacle to the Booth-Bones romance we all crave. He told me, “Jared Booth is also conceived as a multiepisode character. There are very real sparks between Brennan and Jared Booth. He is a very real complication for Brennan and Booth. We are very close to casting him, and we really hope the person we’re pursuing works out.”
Oh lord. This is just what we fans were afraid of. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I have no doubt that the writers will deliver long-term, but as far as the short term is concerned, this does seem to be a bump in the nonsmooth road to true TV love, doesn’t it? [Source: E! Online]
Spoiler:
Sure, he was memorably nabbed in the season finale for being, well, the apprentice of a serial killer. But don’t scratch Zack from the Jeffersonian’s team of crime solvers just yet. As series creator Hart Hanson told me a while back, Eric Millegan will continue to appear on Fox’s Bones, even though his alter ego is behind bars. As David Boreanaz tells TVGuide.com, “Zack’s not really going anywhere. We will see him again throughout Season 4, in certain circumstances.”
For example, Boreanaz says, “We just shot an episode where [Zack is let out] and actually helps us solve something — and then I have to go put him back in prison, which was pretty funny. I’m sure some people are upset about [him being revealed as the Gormogon's assistant], but…. where Zack is right now benefits the show in some ways.” [Source: TV Guide]
Spoiler:
Bonehead Move: Looks like the engagement of Bones’ Angela and Hodgins will be broken this year after Angela takes relationship advice from Sweets. And on the subject of bad advice, it seems the incarcerated Zack — whom Sweets visits often — is blaming Gormagon for his murderous actions. Zack apparently understands that what he did was wrong and he’s sorry that he fell for the line of B.S. Gormagon fed him, but he stands by the fact that he was just following what he believed to be right at the time. [Source: Zap2It]
Spoiler:
Chris in Moline, Ill.: Can you tell me if they will ever get around to catching the “Grave Digger” from season two on Bones?
Yes. (And the Grave Digger ep is one of my fave Bones episodes ever, by the way.) According to Bones boss Hart Hanson, “We are going to do the Grave Digger this year. He is our recurring fiend.” Meaning, it’s not just going to be a one-off: “I do think we’d dedicate a few episodes to catching him.” I nominate Scott Glenn for the part, because he is awesome and can do villainy as easily as some people breathe.
Ally in Seattle: Bones!
According to Emily Deschanel you can expect the following from the first few episodes of season four: “We did a dogfighting episode-that was really sad. And we have an episode where the victim is a transgender person, and at first we don’t know from the bones if it’s a man or a woman, and we have to figure that out. That was a really interesting, wonderful story.” [Source: E! Online]
Spoiler:
Can you confirm the Bones gossip that there will be a kiss between our favorite non-couple in the Season 4 episode “Crank in the Shaft”? — Magali
Mickey: I can neither confirm nor deny the buzz — else risk penalty of death — but I will cryptically say this: It’s best not to focus on this one episode in particular. There are lots of surprises planned for this season.
Will Bones ever revisit the Gravedigger story from Season 2? Brennan and Hodgins were buried alive, for crying out loud! Wouldn’t they be devoting a bit more of their time to catching this guy? — Rachael
Mickey: Good memory! My source tells me that the writers will be exploring storylines involving the Gravedigger this season. [Source: TV Guide]
Spoiler:
I enjoyed seeing “Jimmy Berluti” on Bones a few weeks back. Will there be any other new grad students pitching in at the Jeffersonian? — Gayle
Mickey: No new ones, but future episodes will see the return of some of your old favorites, including Wendell Bray, Daisy Wick (the girl who sucked up to Brennan), Clark Edison (the guy who didn’t like sharing personal information) and Vincent Nigel-Murry. [Source: TV Guide]
Spoiler:
Eliza in Boise, Idaho: Anything on Bones?
Hockey legend Luc Robataille guests in an upcoming episode, and Seeley Booth even gets on the ice with him (which has to be thrilling for David Boreanaz). Also, the bad news about the upcoming storyline with Booth’s brother is that Jared and Brennan make out, the good news is that…uh, Booth and Bones will probably get together eventually? (I’m trying here!) [Source: E! Online]
Spoiler:
Hey Korbi, You haven’t said much about Bones lately and I’m really missing the show. Can you lay some scoop on me to ease the separation anxiety? -Melissa
Indeed! The show returns with new episodes in November and, as executive producer Hart Hanson previously promised, we will finally learn the identity of The Grave Digger. That’s right, the wait will soon be over. And, btw, it ain’t the person many of us originally heard it to be. Let’s just say, that guy is a goner, and after his disappearance, TGD goes after Booth! I’m told S.B. gets kidnapped and Brennan will team up with his brother Jared (Brendan Fehr) to save him. [Source: Zap2It]
Spoiler:
Anna in Salt Lake City: I am jonesing for some Bones scoop please!
Chad Lowe just directed an episode that will air later in the season, and he teased, “There is an NHL hockey superstar in the episode.” OMG, yay! I’ve never watched this “hockey” thing of which you speak, but it sounds fascinating. (And something tells me David Boreanaz will be pleased.) And for those of you not in the loop on your Bones spoilers, that hockey star is Luc Robitaille. [Source: E! Online]

Thanks for the Bones scoop! Got more? -Michelle
I’m hearing that early next year, Brennan and Sweets will be run off the road while investigating the death of a young woman who was in possession of a valuable movie prop. And for those hoping that Booth will be the one administering a little TLC to Brennan post-accident, don’t hold your breath. It seems that Booth will be mostly MIA in this hour, and Agent Payton Perotta (Marisa Coughlin) will be the one taking his place as Brennan’s partner. This has me thinking that Coughlin’s sticking around for more than the one ep we were originally told about… [Source: KorbiTV]
Spoiler:
Long time Bones fans know that Cam was a police officer prior to assuming her position at the Jeffersonian, but we’re about to learn a great deal more about Dr. Saroyan’s previous life and how it shaped who she is today. For starters, Angela ain’t the only one with an ex-fiance to speak of. Seems our favorite coroner was once engaged to marry a single dad whose daughter she was very close with. When the ex-fiance is murdered in an upcoming episode, Cam will offer the teenage orphan a new home with her. [Source: Zap2It]

Question: Is Zack ever coming back to Bones? — Daly
Ausiello: According to exec producer Hart Hanson, yes. “We definitely want to have him back,” he says. “But you risk picking that scab too much and people going, ‘Aw, bring Zack back forever.’” Meanwhile, Hanson says the rotating intern experiment has an expiration date. “We don’t to do the Murphy Brown thing,” he says. “But we’re getting a lot of good stories out of these new people coming in and shaking things up in the lab.” Two more interns are on the way, including a devout Muslim (played by Pej Vahdat) and someone who is hearing impaired (not yet cast).
Question: When will Angela’s girlfriend, Roxie, be off Bones? I think she was a terrible add-on to the this season. — Jessie
Ausiello: Based on this next clue, I think the end is near: The new Muslim intern I mentioned above makes Angela a soothing mix tape after her heart is broken by Roxie. Coincidentally, Hart Hanson tells me that the Angela/Hodgins love story is not over. “We’re not done with them,” he says. “But they have some obstacles to overcome.” [Source: EW]

Question: I’m so sick of seeing the words “Grey’s Anatomy” in your column every week! How about you dig up some dirt on Bones for a change? — Jordan
Ausiello: Bones… Dig… Dirt… That’s the kind of genius play on words that inspires big-time scoopage. It was a year ago that Bones planted a wet one on Booth, so the time seems right to grill exec producer Hart Hanson about the eagerly awaited follow-up smooch. When is it happening? And will this one be real — as in, not part of some bet? “I think we’ll do a little better this season than just an actual, real kiss,” Hanson teases. “But you tell me in about three months whether we’ve succeeded or not. There are a couple of things I’ve already said they’ll do: I’ve said they’ll be naked in bed, and I’ve said she will ask him to father her child. So, I think we’re moving toward something bigger than just a kiss.” What could possibly be bigger that sucking face? Yep, sex was my first guess, too. “The truth is,” Hanson counters, “if [two people] share a kiss and they’re in their mid-’30s, how long is it going to be before they consummate? My intention is to keep [the audience] very frustrated.” Getting back to the how long before they consummate question, I’m thinking May sweeps. Why? Keep reading…
Question: I’m skeptical about Bones and Booth being in bed together naked. Is this a big fake-out? — Kelly
Ausiello: Depends what you’re definition of the word “fake-out” is. While Hart Hanson confirms that the pair will definitely end up in bed together naked (most likely during May sweeps), he refuses to disclose the context, except to say, “It’s not free of encumbrance. It’s not free and clear. Nothing is easy on Bones.”
Question: I’ve heard more Bones scoop from my dog than you, Ausiello. Please give me something! — Emily
Ausiello: Oh, yeah, well… did your dog tell you that Papa Booth’s coming to town! ‘Cause he just might be some day maybe! Explains Hart Hanson: “Booth has some issues with his dad, so we may bring in his father this season. We also talked about having his grandfather show up, but I’m not sure that will happen.” [Source: EW]

Wild Child Awakes: Bones sources tell me Angela’s romantic relationship with Ms. Roxie won’t last forever. Word is, Roxie will dump our favorite facial reconstructionist, who doesn’t take the rejection well. The upside? I hear she may be jumping into bed with Hodgins and making out with Sweets post break up. [Source: Zap2It]

Thanks for the Bones info this week. But I’m confused, if Angela and Hodgins are getting back together, why is she making out with Sweets? -Gina
Who said Angela and Hodgins are getting back together? No, no. They’re simply getting into bed together. A full-on reunion for those two is still in the cards, but not so fast… As for Sweets, when I said “making out”, I just meant that she’s going to plant one on him. [Source: Zap2It]

Kelly in Albany, N.Y.: I am dying to hear some news about Bones! When are we going to see something steamy going on with Booth and Brennan!?
When the show returns on Jan. 15, Booth and Bones will go undercover as married couple Buck and Wanda in the circus after Siamese twins show up dead. Since they have to make everything convincing, the pair will share a bed in their trailer. All I can say is when the trailer’s a rockin’, don’t come a knockin’. And trust me, it will be a rockin’! Question: Seriously, Mike? You’ve gone weeks without giving us new Bones scoop! — Esther
Ausiello: I was saving up for something good — something like… this: According to executive producer Hart Hanson, a series of attacks within the Lab will cause “dissension and suspicion” amongst all of the main players by the end of the season, adding, “It will affect the way each and every character regards the others.” Oh, and the Booth-Brennan sex thing in the May finale? Yep, still happening. [Source: EW]
Spoiler:
Question: Will we be seeing Zach on Bones before the end of the season? –Ajay
Ausiello: There’s a strong chance you’ll see him in the season finale. (BTW, major Booth-Brennan scoop coming later today. Clear your mid-day schedule.) [Source: EW]
Spoiler:
So what, is the nookie Bones is finally gonna let Booth and Brennan have in this season’s finale just a lovely parting gift for David Boreanaz’s character? Probably not, but it sounds like the wisecracking detective will stare death in the face later this season.
“He will be going through a major health crisis,” reveals executive producer Stephen Nathan, “which will cause him to hallucinate.”
Yikes. But whatever Booth’s ultimate fate (the fact that he’s the star of the show probably bodes well for him), at least viewers won’t be imagining his sweet, sweet lovemaking with his partner. “The last episode [of the season] Booth and Brennan are in bed together,” Nathan confirms. “And we can’t have them in bed naked without having sex.”
And the morning after? Will there be catastrophic Moonlighting-esque awkwardness? Thankfully, no. “That’s all going to be resolved within that episode,” Nathan promises, “because we also have to resolve the fact that Brennan wants to have a child.”
So what do you think, folks? Does the words “health” and “crisis” in the same sentence as the name “Booth” strike terror into your hearts? Or do you figure this is just another way for Bones to rattle our… you know? Sound off below. [Source: EW]

Question: What’s the latest on Zack returning to Bones? –Will
Ausiello: The latest is he’s probably definitely most likely going to be in the finale on May 14. And he won’t be the only Bones alum appearing in the ep. “The finale is pretty much going to have everyone who has ever been on the show,” reveals exec producer Stephen Nathan, who says Patricia Belcher (Caroline) and Ryan O’Neal (Max) are among the MVPs slated to join Eric Millegan (Zack). “It’s going to be an interesting last episode of the season. Very different for us, but it should make sense in the context of the season.” [Source: EW]
Spoiler:
Emily in Tulsa, Okla.: When the H are Angela and Hodgins getting back together on Bones? Seriously, we want a full-fledged reconciliation with some lovin’ to spare!
No time soon. As Bones bosses Stephen Nathan and Hart Hanson told us last week, there’s nothing coming in the finale. But Hart says, “We’ve always thought that Angela and Hodgins were a couple that should be together. They’re destined to be together, but, boy, it’s going to be a long, hard road for them.” [Source: E!Online]

Anything on “Bones”? It’s been a while. -Fahim
Look for the return of Booth’s brother Jared (Brendan Fehr) this spring. Seems the elder Booth is trying to secure a job for his baby brother, who lost his previous position when he helped save Seeley from the Gravedigger. I’m told the two siblings will get into a huge fight and some damaging words will be exchanged. [Source: Zap2It]

Question: How about some Bones scoop? –Amy
Ausiello: The March 26 episode is a big one for Tamara Taylor’s Cam, who discovers that her ex-boyfriend has been murdered. “This was the love of her life,” explains exec producer Hart Hanson. “She lived with him for two years and raised his daughter. She now has to go back and tell the now-16-year-old daughter — who doesn’t remember her — that her father is dead. It’s a very emotional episode for us. And Tamara is brilliant in it.” [Source: EW]
Spoiler:
Question: What can you tell us about Booth’s undiagnosed health issue on Bones? Booth isn’t going to be battling a brain tumor, right? David Boreanaz isn’t leaving, is he? –Rachel
Ausiello: The answer to one of those two questions is yes. [Source: Ask Ausiello]
